Inspiration
The majority of top grossing apps on the App Store are games. These games, which all implement a freemium model, are designed in such a way that in order to be amongst the best players, you have to buy in-game items which completely undermines any skill. So why not create a game that is slimmed down to just a platform where you buy points directly via in-app purchases; a mobile game in it's purest form.
What it does
After a user logs in with Facebook, they are presented with leaderboards of high scorers for the day, week, month, and all time. Users can earn 10 points by just opening up the PayToWin app every 24 hours, but users can also pay for points with in-app purchases to drastically and rapidly boost their leaderboard rankings.
Challenges I ran into
The Hashgraph SDK is written in Java; I'm only good with JavaScript. The last time I wrote any Java was in high school and that's when I started programming, so it probably wasn't even good Java code. Needless to say, mistakes were made trying to get Hashgraph to work.
What I learned
How Hashgraph works.
What's next for PayToWin
Will definitely be adding groups for Facebook friends.
Built With
- hashgraph
- react-native
