Inspiration

The inspiration comes from the high percentage of plastic contamination in San Francisco. Only about 9% of plastics are recycled and the major reason for this is because of plastic contamination. This app was built to help reduce this plastic contamination by informing people what bin to throw dirt.

What it does

It scans a captured video frame and uses the google vision API to detect the labels on to. These labels are then passed into a simple algorithmic function that decides what bin the scanned figure foes into

How we built it

It was built with Google Vision API and Node js

Challenges we ran into

The major challenge was designing the front end. it is not perfect in most aspect

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of completing this project although I couldn't perfect my ideas

What's next for Paystic

The use of trained Machine language to accurately detect what bins to throw dirt in. Introduction of a blockchain as incentive to make people use the app more often
