PayPilot AI AI-Powered Commerce & Payment Agent An AI-assisted purchasing platform that helps businesses discover products, compare purchasing options, evaluate budgets, and manage approval-driven PayPal Sandbox payment workflows.
Inspiration
Small businesses often spend hours comparing products, evaluating purchasing options, tracking expenses, and managing payment records. PayPilot AI aims to simplify this process with an AI-powered commerce agent that helps businesses make informed purchasing decisions and manage payments efficiently.
What it does
PayPilot AI is designed to help small and medium-sized businesses describe their purchasing needs in natural language, compare available products and prices, receive AI-powered recommendations, and approve purchases before initiating payment through PayPal.
The platform aims to provide:
- AI purchasing assistant: Understands purchasing requirements and budget constraints.
- Smart product comparison: Organizes product options by price, features, and suitability.
- Human-controlled payments: Requires explicit user approval before payment.
- PayPal integration: Uses PayPal APIs and Sandbox transactions for payment processing.
- Business records: Maintains purchase summaries, transaction status, and expense history.
- Business dashboard: Helps users review recommendations, spending, and purchase activity.
How we built it
Our planned architecture uses React for the user interface, Python FastAPI for backend services, MongoDB for application data, an AI model for natural-language understanding and recommendations, and PayPal APIs for payment processing. The implementation will use PayPal Sandbox for testing.
Challenges
The main challenges include designing a reliable AI-assisted purchasing workflow, validating product and pricing data, handling payment states safely, and ensuring that AI recommendations never trigger payments without user authorization.
What's next
Future improvements include supplier integrations, invoice generation, recurring purchasing workflows, multilingual support for Indian businesses, and analytics to help MSMEs control procurement costs.
Vision
Our vision is to make intelligent, transparent, and user-controlled digital commerce more accessible to small businesses, starting with India's MSME ecosystem.
