Inspiration

We pay a lot in a day and we don’t find time to check on what we are spending more. Segregating bills and calculating the total amount is a difficult task. We will be not aware of which category we are spending more amount. If we find it, we can prepare proper planning for shopping. So to make this task easy we came up with a solution.

What it does

PAYIFY is a mobile app to analyze all the purchases made by scanning a receipt. First, we ask the user to give a limited amount number they want to spend for a month. Then they can scan a bill or can add the amount they spent in a particular category (if they miss the receipt). We use machine learning or optical character recognition (OCR) to track the payments from the receipt. Using AI and machine learning, PAYIFY will segregate the bills into different categories like food, clothing, footwear, food, etc. If they spend an amount near or exceeds the given limit then they receive a notification alert. Weekly and monthly reminders are given on which category they are spending more amount.

Challenges we ran into

we first faced difficulty to form a team but we overcome and formed a good team. In-app development we faced difficulties in backend development. we are still working on it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As we aren't completed our project, so we didn't receive any accomplishments but we are sure once we complete it, we will receive many.

What we learned

We learned Java and Kotlin languages for backend development and XML for frameworks. We learned about artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. We earned experience in the android studios platform. Apart from this, we learned teamwork, leadership skills, and thinking - organizing skills developing solutions for real-world problems.
