PayGlobe AI is an AI-assisted expense-splitting and invoicing web application developed for a PayPal AI hackathon. The project aims to simplify shared expenses by allowing users to upload receipt images, extract receipt details using Google Gemini when live AI processing is enabled, calculate individual expense shares, and prepare invoice drafts through PayPal Sandbox. I used React and Vite for the frontend, Python and Flask for the backend, the Google Gemini API for AI-assisted receipt processing, and PayPal Developer Sandbox for invoice testing. Through this project, I learned about frontend-backend communication, REST API integration, environment variable configuration, Git and GitHub version control, payment API integration, and debugging application issues. I also explored Docker containerization and AWS deployment using Amazon ECR and AWS App Runner, which are my next steps to complete. This project has helped me gain practical experience in application development, API integration, security practices, and the DevOps workflow.
