Inspiration

We were inspired by the financial management challenges faced by small businesses, freelancers, and independent sellers. Managing invoices, tracking payments, predicting cash flow, and identifying financial risks can be time-consuming. We wanted to create an intelligent solution that makes financial management simpler, smarter, and more accessible.

What it does

PayAssist is an AI-powered financial operations copilot that helps users:

• Track invoices and payment statuses.
• Identify overdue and unpaid invoices.
• Forecast future cash flow.
• Detect potential financial risks.
• Generate intelligent financial recommendations.
• Prepare actions for human approval before execution.

How we built it

We developed PayAssist around an interactive financial dashboard that brings essential financial information together. The platform combines financial data tracking, cash-flow analysis, risk identification, and AI-driven recommendations. We also designed an agentic workflow in which the system analyses financial situations and prepares suggested actions for user approval. PayPal integration is planned as part of the broader payment ecosystem.

What we learned

We learned how AI can transform traditional financial management from a manual, reactive process into a more intelligent and proactive experience. We also understood the importance of reliable financial data, transparent AI recommendations, user privacy, and human oversight when building financial technology.

What's next for PayAssist?

Our next goal is to develop PayAssist into a more capable platform by:

• Integrating real payment services such as PayPal.
• Improving AI-based cash-flow forecasting.
• Developing more advanced financial risk detection.
• Introducing automated invoice reminders with user approval.
• Strengthening authentication, data protection, and security.
