Inspiration

I was inspired by the website, http://www.whathasobamadonesofar.com. It rose to popularity around 2009, and provided reminders of things the president got done during his term. I appreciated the interactivity that is involved in this site and decided to incorporate the same idea into my project. Most of all, I am inspired by the countless teachers around the world who sacrifice their own personal time to make the lives of children that much better. Teachers really should be paid more money. The general public has no clue what teachers go through on a daily basis. Oftentimes teachers are criticized and attacked by parents, students, administration, and local government (sometimes within the same week). It is a thankless career, but I want teachers to know they are appreciated!

What it does - The purpose of this project is to balance out some of the negativity and bring awareness to some of the issues teachers face.

How we built it - I built this project using HTML, CSS, and JS. I had to research different articles and websites to use as citations within the inline JavaScript text and footnotes.

Challenges we ran into - I ran into the challenge of decided what color scheme I wanted to go with. It was also difficult trying to manipulate the image file of Mr. Magoo in the top left hand corner. It was not hard finding the myriad of reasons of why teachers should be paid more money!

Accomplishments that we're proud of - I am very proud of the fact that I was able to create this project in under a week. I have only been coding consistently for the past 9 months.

What we learned - I have learned that

What's next for Pay Teachers More - I plan to upload it to my GitHub to use as an additional repository that I may use to display how active I am as a web developer.
