Inspiration

A pet’s favorite toy or daily routine may be familiar to one person but unknown to the next caregiver. We wanted to make those handoffs clearer.

What it does

PawTwin brings confirmed preferences, care plans, and daily records into one household workspace. Members can review a proposal, explicitly approve a task, record completion, and see the result in a daily report.

How we built it

We used FastAPI, React, TypeScript, and SQLite, with Codex assisting development, testing, and review. The current local prototype includes an Alexa-style web simulator powered by local rules.

Challenges we ran into

Switching accounts or pets could leave outdated responses and drafts on screen. We addressed these cases with permission checks, version checks, state cleanup, and browser tests.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We demonstrated a complete handoff across two accounts: a confirmed preference, a fresh conversation with its source, an approved care task, recorded completion, and a daily report.

What we learned

Useful memory needs clear sources, owner confirmation, and permissions. Suggestions, approved tasks, and reported completion each need a distinct place in the workflow.

What's next for PawTwin

We plan to evaluate the workflow with consenting households, improve accessibility and performance, and separately validate live model and Alexa integrations.
