Inspiration

Inspired by our favourite games and how Duolingo could engage their users to always return and keep their streaks. We saw an opportunity to create a game to foster an environment that would enhance the health and mental well-being of students.

What it does

PAWsitive is a game that rewards users for completing their daily physical and mental tasks (e.g., journaling and mood tracker). Rewards can be used to draw for clothes, coins, and pets! Customize your character and have fun.

How we built it

We built the app using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript. This app is to be used on a mobile phone (e.g., iPhone XR).

Challenges we ran into

We encountered GitHub push and pull conflicts very frequently, but our team members are so amazing that these conflicts could not stop us from creating an amazing app. Many of us are new to programming, so it was a challenge to create a fun and interactive app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of our teamwork, communication, and time management. We were able to create an app that enhances the health and well-being of those around us and we're excited to share the game with others.

What we learned

Learning to efficiently code in a short amount of time is tough, but what we learned is that the planning phase is extremely important. Once a solid plan had been formed, we were able to follow that plan to completion.

What's next for PAWsitive

We plan on increasing PAWsitive's features, such as a water reminder, a database that records information to integrate analytics, a friend-list, more items and pets, and additional tweaks that focus on student's health and well-being.
