Inspiration

We always run into trouble with research projects, losing track of the sources we read and redoing citations by hand.

What it does

PawPath is a Chrome extension that automatically tracks your research path, lets you exclude links you don’t want to see again, and gives you a notepad and citation generator in one place.

How we built it

We built it as a Manifest V3 Chrome extension with JavaScript, HTML and CSS, using a background service worker, a content script and chrome.storage.local.

Challenges we ran into

Pulling reliable author names and dates from different websites was hard, so we added an editable citation box and removed AI from the extension.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that it tracks your research automatically, hides unwanted results on the search page.
