PawPass is a community-driven platform built to make life easier for service dog handlers, dog owners, trainers, and pet-friendly businesses. Finding accurate information about accessibility, trustworthy businesses, and reliable dog-related resources is often fragmented across countless websites and social media groups. PawPass brings everything together in one place.

The platform allows users to discover dog-friendly and service dog–friendly locations, share verified experiences, document access concerns, and access educational resources designed to improve understanding rather than create conflict. Businesses can engage with the community, demonstrate their commitment to accessibility, and build trust through transparency.

Our mission is simple: create a safer, more informed, and more connected dog community. By combining location-based discovery, community reviews, incident reporting, education, and accessibility tools, PawPass helps users make confident decisions while encouraging positive interactions between businesses and the people they serve.

Built by service dog handlers with firsthand experience navigating accessibility challenges, PawPass focuses on education, trust, and collaboration to improve real-world experiences for millions of people who rely on their dogs every day.

How We Built It

PawPass was built using a modern full-stack architecture designed for scalability across both web and mobile.

• Neon PostgreSQL for cloud-hosted data storage
• Stripe for subscription and payment processing
• Vercel for web hosting and deployment
• Expo Application Services (EAS) for mobile builds and deployment

Development We used Codex extensively throughout development to accelerate coding, troubleshoot complex issues, refactor components, and iterate quickly on new features. Codex helped us build production-ready functionality while allowing us to focus on solving real-world accessibility challenges instead of repetitive development tasks.

PawPass was designed as a shared platform where both the web application and mobile app use the same backend, authentication system, and data models. This allows users to seamlessly access the platform from any device while keeping business listings, reviews, accessibility information, and user accounts synchronized.

The result is a scalable platform built specifically to improve accessibility, education, and community for service dog handlers, dog owners, trainers, and pet-friendly businesses.

I've never done any code what so ever and I'm extremely impressed how this app turned out. I already have 91 users.
