Pawmodoro
Inspiration
As students, we understand the struggles of time management and finding the motivation to study. We were inspired by productivity tools like Notion and the Pomodoro technique, which are effective but sometimes not enough. Many students struggle to even start studying, so we wanted to add a fun motivation that would get people to study!
Taking inspiration from games like Pou, we created Pawmodoro: A productivity tool that integrates a Pomodoro timer with a virtual pet. By completing tasks on your to-do list, you feed your pet and keep it happy. This gamified approach encourages students to build healthy study habits while having fun.
How We Built It
We developed Pawmodoro using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS in VS Code. The website’s design was created in Figma, while the graphics were drawn in Clip Studio Paint and animated in Krita. Each team member contributed to different parts of the project, collaborating and discussing new ideas when needed.
Challenges We Faced
One of our biggest challenges was our initial ambitions. As first-year students with limited experience in web development, we encountered difficulties integrating animations and timers into the site. Managing dependencies between different elements became a challenge, but we managed to overcome it through our continued collaboration efforts.
