Inspiration

I wanted a way to cool down that felt human and light, not clinical. That became Pawlitics: a soothing virtual friend paired with AI avatars that debate—seriously or absurdly—to help me reset.

What it does

When I’m not at my best, the virtual friend offers brief, calm advice. When I need a mental shift, two AI avatars debate passionately and logically; the contrast is oddly relaxing and helps me breathe, smile, and refocus.

How I built it

I used Rokr AI to generate the conversational flows and debate logic, then wrapped it in a debate-themed UI (blue/red accents, soft gradients, rounded buttons) tuned for a calming feel. I integrated a lightweight state for moods and post-debate summaries.

Challenges I ran into

Blending “comfort” and “comedy” without whiplash was tricky. I iterated on tone, pacing, and visuals so debates feel playful—not chaotic—while the virtual friend remains genuinely supportive.

Accomplishments that I’m proud of

I shipped something that makes people laugh and feel better. It’s a form of stress relief only AI can deliver—nothing else argues with itself this passionately and logically.

What I learned

Humor and care can coexist. With careful cues and pacing, AI can be both entertaining and grounding in the same experience.

What’s next for Pawlitics

Add voice mode, richer pet personalities, and smarter post-debate reflections tied to mood history—keeping stress relief soothing, personal, and fun.
