Inspiration
We were inspired by pawpoints and we realized you can't use them everywhere. We were interested in cryptocurrency and thought it would be cool to implement that on Clemson's campus.
What it does
A Clemson cryptocurrency where you can mine, buy, and sell!
How we built it
EC2, AWS, blockchain, GitHub, python, youtube videos, and lots of stack overflow
Challenges we ran into
We ran into problems with our hosting. We initially tried to host with Nelify, but our website is dynamic, so it didn't work. None of us had prior experience working with AWS or EC2, so hosting through that and then connecting our .tech domain was a struggle.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of even having something to submit! It was our first 24-hour hackathong
What we learned
We learned much about AWS, EC2, python, blockchain, and more. None of us had heavy coding experience, so we had to really learn on the fly.
What's next for PawChain
It would be cool to expand this to other universities!
