The goal was to create a user-friendly app that provides personalized assistance, guidance, and support to pet owners, ultimately improving the lives of both pets and their human companions.
What it does:
PawCareAI is a comprehensive pet care app designed to prioritize the needs of pets and their owners. Powered by advanced technologies such as Firebase, Kotlin, Android Studio, and the Gemini API, the app offers features to simplify pet care. Users can effortlessly add all their beloved pets, seek tailored information and advice, ask questions about health, symptoms, or quirky facts, and even snap photos of any health or behavioral issues to receive assistance. The Gemini API is utilized to analyze and respond to user questions and images, enhancing the app's functionality and providing accurate and personalized assistance.
How we built it:
The development process involved extensive research, design, and coding using Firebase for backend services, Kotlin for Android app development, and Android Studio as the development environment. I also integrated the Gemini API to analyze user questions and images, providing accurate and personalized responses.
Challenges we ran into:
Throughout the development journey, various challenges were encountered, including optimizing AI algorithms for accurate health assessments, ensuring seamless integration of the Gemini API, and maintaining data privacy and security. Designing an intuitive user interface and ensuring a smooth user experience also posed significant challenges. However, through perseverance, creative problem-solving, and self-motivation, these obstacles were successfully overcome.
