  PawCare App Concept: Rescuing stray animals and tracking rehabilitation for rewards.

Inspiration

Many stray animals suffer in the streets without proper medical care or food. We were inspired by the concept of "move-to-earn" fitness apps and wanted to translate that powerful motivation into a life-saving mission. We built PawCare to give people a tangible reason to step up, rescue, and care for vulnerable stray animals while rewarding their compassion.

What it does

PawCare is an interactive mobile app that connects animal rescuers and animal lovers with stray cats and dogs in need.

• Rescue & Document: Users take photos of a stray animal in poor condition.
• Care & Track: Users provide food, shelter, or medical attention, uploading progress updates.
• Earn & Reward: As the animal’s health visibly improves, the app rewards the user with points and perks funded by community donations and app supporters.

How we built it

We developed the app focusing on a seamless user experience, utilizing modern mobile development tools. We integrated the RevenueCat SDK to power in-app purchases and supporter subscriptions (VIP Supporter tier), allowing generous users to financially contribute directly to the animal welfare fund.

Challenges we ran into

Designing a trustworthy system to verify rescue and recovery photos without encouraging fraudulent submissions was a challenge. We solved this by implementing progress-tracking milestones and community-backed validation features.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Successfully bridging the gap between compassionate action and gamified rewards.

What we learned

We learned how crucial community trust and transparent fundraising are when building a social-good application, and how gamification can dramatically increase user engagement for real-world causes.

• Launching partnerships with local pet stores and veterinary clinics to expand reward options.
• Introducing AI-assisted health assessments for faster and more accurate rescue tracking.
• Expanding the platform globally to save even more stray lives.
