Inspiration
``` ruby puts "One day, while I was on a bus going to college, I saw a cow by the roadside—bleeding and clearly abandoned. It looked like her owner had thrown her out. I felt helpless. I wanted to help her, but I was stuck in the bus, just watching her disappear behind.
All I could think was: "If only there was a way to let someone nearby know. Maybe an animal rescuer or a kind person in that area could have helped."
But there was no such platform. No app. No website. Nothing that could connect people like me—who witness animals in need—with those who can help.
That moment stayed with me. And as a coder, I decided: If it doesn’t exist, I’ll build it.
And that’s how this project was born — to give a voice to animals, and a way for people to take action."
## What it does
It’s More Than a Rescue Tool — It’s a Community
🧩 Connect Chat: Opens a direct conversation between the person who reported and the rescuers or organization. They can confirm location, time, and updates — making rescue faster and more informed.
💸 Donation Campaigns: Verified animal organizations can post transparent donation requests — with reason, target, and live progress. Donors can trust that their contribution goes to real causes.
🫂 Community Space: Users can:
Organize animal adoption events
Run street rescue drives
Create or join campaigns for animal welfare
Post rescue stories and encourage others
🏅 Reward System:
Active contributors — reporters, volunteers, organizers — earn digital badges and certificates like:
First Responder
Rescue Hero
Paw Protector
HelpHero
These recognitions celebrate real heroes working for voiceless lives.
This platform is like social media—but only for people who truly care about animals.
A space to report, rescue, donate, adopt, and unite for a cause that matters.
## How we built it
built by bolt.new by doing vibe coding
## Challenges we ran into
Integrating real-time location tracking with instant notifications was complex. Ensuring only verified NGOs could accept donations required secure backend checks. Building a meaningful chat system and balancing privacy with communication was also technically and ethically challenging.
## Accomplishments that we're proud of
Dealing with real world problem and try to give a solution that can actually work is proud for me
## What we learned
Dealing with new tech is great learning for me also doing social help with tech or more dealing real world problem with the tech .
## What's next for Paw_Heroes
it is quite difficult for now (atleast for me) but idea is- Plan to add AI-based animal injury detection from images, real-time rescue tracking, and multilingual support to reach more users. Future updates will include a **mobile app, volunteer verification system, and stronger collaboration with local shelters and municipal bodies.**
