Inspiration:

Initially, our team was interested in creating an website for pet adoption. However, our research revealed that the topic had already been addressed by many competitors. We then decided to create a resource with a greater impact. This is how we settled on a lost and found pet website that owners can use to find their pets during natural disasters. Researching that topic showed that there are resources that help owners make disaster plans for their pets. There weren’t any resources that support pet owners during natural disasters, and that inspired our project.

What it does

Anyone in the community can submit profiles of pets they lost or found. The descriptions of lost pets are matched with descriptions of pets that are found.

How we built it

We split up into a development team and a UX/design team.

Challenges we ran into

Time constraints prevented us from realizing all the features we wanted to incorporate into our website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully creating our own database and a design with the user in mind.

What we learned

It’s difficult to narrow the focus of the project and bring a variety of ideas together.

What's next for Paw to Heart

We would like to add the option to create a user profile in order to follow up with users who don’t find their pets. We'd also like to implement a mobile app.
