Inspiration

I have always loved programming — especially web development — but even more than that, I have an endless fascination for digital graphics, fractals, mandalas, and strange, nested patterns that catch the eye and calm the mind. When I discovered BOLT.new, an AI-powered developer bot, I was immediately inspired. The idea that I could talk to a bot in plain language and get well-structured code, designs, and ideas made me feel like I had a superpower. I wanted to combine my passion for coding and my love for creating complex, beautiful patterns into an easy-to-use web app that anyone could enjoy — without writing a single line of code.

What it does

It lets the user easily create stunning symmetrical patterns, mandalas, and fractal-like art by picking shapes, setting symmetry, and drawing interactively — no coding needed.

How I built it

I started with a clear vision:

  • Simple tools to pick shapes and icons.
  • Smart symmetry to do the magic behind the scenes.
  • An intuitive canvas that transforms clicks and drags into millions of stunning designs. I used HTML5 Canvas, modern CSS, and pure JavaScript, all guided by prompts crafted for BOLT. The UI needed to feel clean, artistic, and powerful — so I refined it step by step with BOLT’s help.

Challenges I ran into

One of my biggest challenges was learning to write precise prompts for BOLT. Describing my ideas clearly enough for an AI to deliver perfect, stable code took practice. Another challenge was building a systematic workflow so that each feature connected smoothly — from the shape toolbar to the symmetry engine to the export tools.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

I’m proud that I turned a complex idea into a simple, intuitive, and joyful tool.
Patterns Art Builder makes it easy for anyone — no matter their skill level — to create stunning, intricate designs in the blink of an eye.
Seeing how effortless it is to turn simple shapes into beautiful art makes me feel that I truly achieved what I dreamed of building.

What we learned

This project taught me how powerful and beautiful the collaboration between AI and human creativity can be.
Together with BOLT, I explored new horizons — faster, more creatively, and with fewer limits. I learned that the right AI tools do not replace human imagination; they amplify it.

I’m planning to introduce advanced symmetry modes, fractal presets, and options to animate and export patterns.
