Inspiration
_ We were inspired by Pinterest and other social media sights like Flickr and Tumblr and Twitter. _
What it does
_ It is a website that spreads information about recycling and environmental projects. It gives ideas for DIY projects and allows members to upload their own stories of how they have helped in their community or how they plan to. It also links users to Organizations' and Charities' donation links. _
How we built it
_ We built it primarily through the Wix online website editor using drag and drop code blocks. We also extended the project by creating an Instagram and Twitter account linked through the site. _
Challenges we ran into
_ We ran into the issue of creating a valid domain/web address that would allow our users to easily connect to the site. We also had trouble locating the Twitter account after we created it. For some reason it was not locating the account in the search bar. _
Accomplishments that we're proud of
_ We are proud that we were able to fully create a social networking site complete with "Following", "Followers", "Search", "Follow Categories", and "Like" features. We are also proud that we were able to create an attractive display for the site that flows from one page to the next. _
What we learned
_ We learned how to make a fully functioning website and how to create a complicated project within set time restrictions. _
What's next for Patroni Terrae
_ We hope to publish the site and have an active community involvement in the site. _
