This project was my submission for my prop modeling assignment in my 3D Modeling class. I was immediately interested in modeling something relating to my favorite game, Destiny 2, and chose to make an ornament (in-game term for a reskin) for my favorite exotic-tier weapon, The Lament. After some deliberation, I decided I wanted to make the ornament look similar to the weapons from the raid Deep Stone Crypt, as they come from the same place lore-wise yet have two very different visual identities. I sketched out some ideas that I ended up really liking, so I modeled them out as closely as possible. The biggest challenge I had was the white exoskeleton due to the strange angles I had to create while maintaining a constant shape. I designed all the materials procedurally except the holographic scope, where I generated the dot pattern using JSplacement. While this project is completed, if I were to ever get my dream job as an artist at Bungie I would for sure propose it to the concept/hard surface artists.
