Inspiration
Medical terminology and results can feel confusing to an average patient. We wanted to take a common procedure, blood work results, and make the results more easily understandable and accessible.
What it does
The user enters the results of their blood work (ferritin, LDL cholesterol, vitamin D (25-OH)), and Patient Lab Helper gives simple suggestions on how to improve their situation.
How we built it
We brainstormed the idea, and then used Claude to create the backend and frontend code.
Challenges we ran into
As beginners, understanding how to debug and what the code did was the challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Since this was our first hackathon, we're all incredibly proud of creating a working site that is applicable to real life.
What we learned
We learned how to use Claude, to debug, and to use Git.
What's next for Patient Lab Helper
The next steps are to expand to different lab results, beyond just blood work, and to offer more personalized and detailed suggestions.
