Inspiration
[Berend] "Many of my family members work in the medical field and tell me actively about the stress caused by outdated and poorly structured systems from management that cause detrimental time loss.
What it does
A platform that uniformly manages patients from entry all the way to discharge. Patients get accurate wait time estimates, automated bed assignments, notes from triage, and transfers can be set with ease through the simply designed data tables.
How we built it
We created a joint-vscode structure and worked through github, each tackling different aspects of the projects from frontend and backend.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled with identifying exactly how we would go about storing information and how we would structure the queue and updating the bed status.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Overcoming the prior mentioned issues and building a fully functional system. Learning SQL from the ground up. We are especially proud of how easy to use our system is so it's as practical as possible.
What we learned
Team-based problem solving, multi-dimensional queue sorting, much more knowledge in SQL.
What's next for Patient Flow
Hoping to expand the system for practical use in the medical field.
