Inspiration
Our motive behind working on this project is that we have all witnessed the drawbacks of course selection and felt the unfamiliarity of the appropriate academic courses and paths to take.
What it does
Our application allows users to enter their majors, without providing any personal information, and have a customizable 4-year academic plan made in an instant. We have also linked "Rate My Professor" to our application in order to create a main hub where users have all critical data accessible to them in one place.
How we built it
We brainstormed the design of our application using rudimentary drawings, then utilized programming languages like HTML and CSS to bring our idea to fruition.
Challenges we ran into
We faced adversities in compiling data and presenting it in a table format.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Throughout this project, we never had a moment where our tasks were unclear. We're really proud of our communication and collaboration, as we worked efficiently but also had fun all the same - which we believe was the main goal of this hackathon.
What we learned
We learned that working in an experienced group of students with shared interests broadened our horizons and enabled us to work outside our comfort zone.
What's next for Pathway
We plan to expand our project to include data from other colleges nationwide and the whole UNC educational system.
