The first year of our high school was spent indoors, because of covid and the pandemic. We lost a personal connection and interaction with our peers and teachers. This affected our growth socially and academically. We decided to be proactive in our development as students, in developing an app that would guide us in our pathway to success.
Our app provides resources and tools for students to help guide them to a pathway of success. The main focus is study buddy opportunities. We pair students with high performing students to help tutor in various subjects. The app includes tools and resources for networking, internships, competition opportunities, time management tips, and ACT/SAT/Final exam prep information.
We reflected on our experiences in the classroom and what resources would be effective in guiding everyone to a pathway of success.
The main challenge was lack of experience with technology and experience in building apps.
We are proud of completing our Pathway to Success App and increasing our soft and hard skills.
We learned what team work is all about. The keys are communication, accountability, and setting goals. The team is only strong as its links (team members).
What's next for Pathway to Success Our next step is to make our app available to our school district and to continue to enhance our app.
