Inspiration
As someone preparing for university admissions and dreaming of becoming an ML/AI Engineer, I constantly struggled with one question: "Where do I even start?" The internet is full of courses, videos, and roadmaps — but nothing that looked at my skills and my goal and said: "Here's your exact path."
I built Pathora AI because that tool didn't exist. Every aspiring developer, career switcher, or student deserves a personalized roadmap — not a generic one-size-fits-all syllabus.
What it does
Pathora AI is an AI-powered career roadmap generator. A user inputs:
- Their dream job (e.g. Machine Learning Engineer, Frontend Developer)
- Their current skills (e.g. basic Python, HTML)
The app then generates an interactive visual learning roadmap with:
- Ordered learning milestones
- Tracking Your Roadmaps
- Giving Phase quizes after ending the whole quiz
- Curated YouTube and Coursera resources for each step
- A clean, modern UI that makes the path feel achievable
How we built it
- Frontend: React + Tailwind CSS via Lovable AI
- AI Layer: Gemini Ai from the support of lovable
- Resources: YouTube Data API + Coursera course links
- Visualization: Interactive node-based roadmap UI
- Deployment: Lovable AI hosted build
The entire project was designed and shipped solo within the challenge window, primarily built on an iPhone using Lovable AI as the development environment.
Challenges we ran into
- Structuring AI output into a consistent, parseable roadmap format
- Making the visual roadmap feel interactive and intuitive on mobile
- Curating relevant resources automatically without returning outdated or irrelevant links
- Building a polished UI under a tight deadline with no PC — just an iPhone
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Shipped a fully functional AI-powered app solo in under the deadline
- The roadmap visualization actually works and feels smooth
- Resource curation feels genuinely useful — not just filler links
- Clean, minimal UI that matches a professional SaaS standard
What we learned
- How to prompt an LLM to return structured, consistent JSON output for dynamic UI rendering
- The importance of UI/UX decisions when visualizing graph-like data
- How to scope a hackathon project — what to cut, what to keep
- That constraints (no PC, solo, tight deadline) force better decisions
What's next for Pathora AI
- Skill assessments — auto-detect your level before generating the path
- Community roadmaps — upvote and share paths that worked for real people
- Job board integration — see live openings that match your roadmap stage
- Mobile app — native iOS/Android experience
