Inspiration
Modern education gives students access to unlimited information, but very little direction. Many students know what they want to achieve — learning new skills, improving academically, exploring careers, or building projects — but struggle with creating a clear and structured path to get there.
We noticed that most educational platforms provide the same content to every learner, regardless of their goals, pace, or strengths. Students often jump between YouTube videos, online courses, AI tools, and notes without a personalized roadmap, which leads to confusion and inconsistent progress.
PathForge was inspired by the idea of creating an AI-powered platform that helps students transform goals into organized learning journeys.
What it does
PathForge is an AI-powered personalized learning platform that generates structured learning roadmaps for students.
The platform helps users:
- Generate personalized learning paths
- Create AI-based courses and modules
- Track progress through milestones
- Receive smart recommendations
- Organize learning in a structured way
Students can enter:
- Their subject
- Skill level
- Goals
- Preferred learning pace
The system then generates a tailored roadmap designed specifically for them.

How we built it
We built PathForge as a modern web-based platform focused on simplicity, accessibility, and scalability.
Frontend
We designed a clean and intuitive interface that allows students to easily navigate through dashboards, modules, and learning paths.
Backend & AI Logic
We developed systems that analyze user input such as:
- Goals
- Subjects
- Learning difficulty
- Pacing preferences
The AI then generates personalized modules, milestones, and structured learning journeys.
Personalization Engine
Instead of giving every student identical content, PathForge dynamically adapts recommendations to create a more individualized experience.

We also focused heavily on user experience to ensure the platform feels organized, motivating, and easy to use.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was balancing personalization with practicality.
Building a system that feels personalized while still remaining realistic and easy to understand required multiple iterations. AI-generated learning paths also needed to stay:
- Structured
- Educationally meaningful
- Actionable
- Scalable
Another challenge was designing the UI/UX. Many learning platforms become cluttered and overwhelming, so we spent significant time simplifying workflows and improving navigation.
We also had to carefully think about scalability and how the platform could realistically support large numbers of students in the future.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a platform that solves a real-world problem in education in a practical and scalable way.
Some accomplishments include:
- Building an AI-powered roadmap generation system
- Designing a clean and user-friendly interface
- Creating structured and personalized learning journeys
- Developing a strong EdTech concept with real-world applications
- Successfully combining AI with education in a meaningful way
We are also proud that PathForge has already gained 2,000+ viewers organically without paid marketing, showing genuine demand and curiosity around the platform.
In addition, we are preparing to launch a pilot program in an IB school, which will help showcase the real-world potential and practical application of PathForge in an educational environment.
Most importantly, we are proud that PathForge focuses on helping students gain clarity and direction rather than simply giving them more information.
What we learned
Through building PathForge, we learned that effective educational technology is not just about adding AI features — it is about solving real student problems.
We learned:
- How to design AI-assisted experiences
- The importance of personalization in education
- How structured systems improve student engagement
- How to simplify complex workflows
- The value of rapid prototyping and iteration
Most importantly, we learned that students need guidance just as much as they need access to content.
