Inspiration
As fresh high school graduates, we are aware of how overwhelming the planning and research process for our post-secondary academic plans can be. With information scattered across the Internet, and the recent rise in other academic institutions such as foundations and polytechnics has made this process even more perplexing.
What it does
Pathfinder is a Web app that organizes data on post-secondary academic institutions to help students choose a suitable option based on their target job/career.
How we built it
Pathfinder is built on the React framework and data that is manually gathered and organized is stored using firebase.
Challenges we ran into
We were unable to fully connect our firebase database with our Web app, hence we were not able to display all the data on our prototype.
What we learned
This was the first Hackathon for all of us. We learned many technical skills such as using React and firebase, but we also learned how to divide work when developing software as well.
