Inspiration

The job market has been incredibly challenging in recent years, and like many others, we’ve struggled to find jobs that truly align with our passions. This frustration led us to create Pathfinder—an intelligent career assistant designed to simplify the job search process and provide meaningful insights to guide users toward the right opportunities.

What it does

Pathfinder is a web-based AI assistant powered by Llama 3-70B on AWS Bedrock. What sets it apart from other AI career assistants is its ability to provide interactive data visualizations alongside textual insights. Instead of just reading advice, users can see and engage with data-driven insights, making career exploration more intuitive and informative.

How we built it

AI Model: We leveraged AWS Bedrock and integrated Llama 3-70B to power Pathfinder’s intelligent responses.

Backend Integration: We used AWS CLI to facilitate seamless communication between our application and Bedrock.

Web Interface: We developed the front-end using Streamlit, which allowed us to quickly build an interactive and user-friendly UI.

Visualizations: We dynamically generate data-driven insights based on user queries, making career decision-making more engaging.

Challenges we ran into

Working with AWS Bedrock was a steep learning curve. While using a single AWS service is manageable, orchestrating multiple AWS modules to work together smoothly was a significant challenge. Ensuring real-time interactions and efficient data visualization required continuous iteration and problem-solving.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our biggest achievement was successfully implementing dynamic visualizations that adapt based on different user prompts. This feature not only enhances Pathfinder’s usability but also transforms career advice into a more data-driven and immersive experience.

What we learned
