Inspiration

PathAwayer will be an open intelligent digital business ecosystem dynamically growing as interconnected agents from startups, researchers, developers, investors, experts and talent with global scope.

What it does

PathAwayer aims to develop a large-scale semantic knowledge base where agents can interact in the semantic similarity model, which involves assessing the concept similarity from the perspectives of both the ontology structure and the context of ontology concepts and relations. PathAwayer proposes a framework for ontology-learning-based service discovery and matchmaking in the digital ecosystem environment. This framework incorporates the features of semantic metadata publishing, maintenance, and clustering, community-based ontology revolution and service retrieval, evaluation and ranking.

How I built it

• Collaborate with domain experts to create domain ontologies for the service knowledge base, and concept-based QoS measurement criteria. • Employ the semantic crawler(s) to collect Semantic Digital Ecosystem metadata for the service domain. • Invite service providers from the service domain to edit and publish services on the platform. • Call for service requesters’ participation in the PathAwayer platform. • A series of experiments will be undertaken to evaluate the feasibility of algorithms, mechanisms and rules employed in the PathAwayer prototype

Challenges I ran into

There is no special integrated & intelligence service platform for SMEs to publish services, to semantically cluster services, to precisely search services, to domain-specifically evaluate QoS, and to rank services based on the QoS, which could greatly facilitate the communication among SMEs in the real life. Because of the diversity and heterogeneity of existing digital services and the lack of Quality of Services (QoS) information, service requesters cannot easily find a trustworthy service provider who can provide a reliable service. Online advertising has become increasingly popular among SMEs in service industries, and thousands of service advertisements are published on the Internet every day. However, there is a huge barrier between service-provider-oriented service information publishing and service-customer-oriented service information discovery, which causes that service consumers hardly retrieve the published service advertising information from the Internet.

What I learned

Establish an awareness of sustainable business resilience is about the capacity of an organization to anticipate and adapt to Digital Transformation in its environment and to learn in the process. For this, there will be to main steps; Step 1: Establish common reference architecture to align people, processes, and technology. Step 2: Assess the current digital approach to identify gaps and opportunities.

What's next for PathAwayer

PathAwayer will be an open innovation hub where Semantic Knowledge comes in for driving below requirements; Which strategy, operating model, digital talent and skills, how to best use digital metrics — scale, active usage, and engagement — to measure and increase digital traction.
