💡 Inspiration

Innovation often begins with a simple idea. However, transforming that idea into a patent is an expensive and uncertain process. Many inventors, students, and startups spend months developing a concept only to later discover that a similar patent already exists.

Traditional patent searches require specialized legal expertise and access to complex databases. For early-stage innovators, this barrier often discourages experimentation and slows down innovation.

PatentGuard AI was inspired by a simple question:

What if inventors could instantly check whether their idea is novel before investing time and money in patent filing?

Our goal was to build an AI-powered assistant that helps inventors evaluate the novelty of their ideas, understand the existing patent landscape, and even generate a preliminary patent draft.
