Inspired by the city I grew up in and the drive to touch grass, Pastel Gotham is a gamified urban exploration app that transforms New York City into a soft, pastel-hued digital wonderland. Using real-time NYC Open Data and GPS navigation, players explore the city as customizable Rat or Pigeon avatars to discover hidden history, identify local street trees, and find public art. By rewarding players for "checking in" at landmarks and locating proper trash disposal sites, the app bridges the gap between digital play and real-world environmental stewardship, encouraging New Yorkers to learn about their city while keeping it clean.
