Inspiration

Inspired by the cyber security theme of the BorderHacks 2021 Hackathon to create a very simple application that can check the strength of any password.

What it does

Password Strength Checker is a very simple application design to give feedback on potential passwords entered into the input field. There are three categories that passwords can fall into, those being: weak, medium, and strong. All passwords are considered weak by default, then if the text contains at least one uppercase, one lowercase, one numeric and one special character on top of being at least six characters long it is considered a medium password. To be considered a strong password, the entered text needs to have all the aforementioned requirements as well as being at least ten characters long.

How we built it

It is built solely using Angular.js.

Challenges we ran into

I have not ran into any major challenges as this was a very simple application.

Deploying to Heroku successfully :)

What we learned

• Strong passwords are vital in order prevent accounts from being compromised
• Working in a team is better than working individually because it allows for more features to be added to the application on top of having the benefit of making new friends

What's next for Password Strength Checker

I have plans to add more cybersecurity based features such as text encryption, image encryption, and network traffic analyzer to this application.
