Inspiration
We wanted to help those who needed help with creating a strong password. Our project focuses heavily on the elderly and those with ADHD to help them remain safe while using the internet.
What it does
Password Guardian uses a simple scoring system to check how safe an entered password is. The password is scored as it gets entered and gets checked on its length, how many numbers are in it, how many symbols are in it, and whether it has predictable patterns like a and b after each other or 12.
How we built it
We used VSCode to build our project. Our program is coded in html, css, and javascript. We used generative AI to generate our code. Specifically, Gemini was used.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into Challenges regarding how to make our idea less simple and slightly more complex. We got the first version of our code, and then had to revise it multiple times to get the final version with enough content.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of finishing the project on time and being able to create a project that we are satisfied with despite the fact that our project is based off a simple idea.
What we learned
We learned how to better use VSCode to collaborate with others and also learned valuable skills that help with teamwork. We learned that despite the simplicity of our idea, it can still help many people around the world. As a result of this project, we are also more familiar with javascript, html, and css.
What's next for Password Guardian
We will continue working on Password Guardian and will improve the UI. We will make it more visually appealing as well as improving the code to add more features.
