Inspiration

We are an immersive company that creates value through virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence for our clients. We continue creating different ways of using immersive technologies as 360 photography and 360 video. It is our passion and we like to iterate.

What it does

Through the use of 360 photography allow any one to see a 360 image of a place of interest.

How we built it

We have been building the hardware and software for over two years. We use commercial 360 cameras, raspberry pi, AWS and Facebook APIs to create our own 360 ReporterBot. Through Facebook Messenger we can send 360 photography so people can see in real time how is it at a place of interest.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing and designning a portable solution for instant 360 photos, designning an architecture for routing the messages to the right IoT (reporterbot) and take a 360 picture, and integrating it to facebook was a real challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that our Bot understand our messages and that it returns the correct real time 360 photo of the correct place, also sendind chached images or historical images.

What we learned

We learned that there are plenty of uses for bots, and mixing it with the immersive technologies makes it more extensible and capable for other level of user interaction and that messenger interfaces are a more fluid way for users to understand and use an application.

What's next for ReporterBot

We hope we can develop a way to livestream 360 video so that people can get better reports and see them in virtual reality also interact with other users and get more accurate and realtime reports of a place.
