PashtoLearn AI is an AI-powered learning assistant designed to transform English educational content into simple Pashto explanations. It aims to help learners understand lessons, ask questions, and test their understanding through simple quizzes.

How we built it

The project is designed for Afghan students who want to access online learning but face a language barrier when educational resources are mainly available in English.

Why it matters

Instead of trying to solve every education problem, PashtoLearn AI focuses on one specific barrier: language. By making English educational content easier to understand in Pashto, the project aims to make online learning more accessible.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenge is making the Pashto explanations accurate, natural, and easy for students to understand while preserving the meaning of the original educational content.

What's next for PashtoLearn AI

Our next step is to build and test a working prototype with real educational content.

We plan to add:

• English-to-Pashto educational explanations
• AI-powered questions and answers
• Simple quizzes generated from lessons
• Different explanation levels for different learners
• Better and more accurate Pashto language support
• A simple, low-bandwidth interface for learners with limited internet access

Our long-term goal is to make high-quality online learning more accessible to Pashto-speaking students who face language barriers.
