Inspiration
Party Crashers was inspired by classic deduction games like Guess Who? and MasterMind - where you only know how many guesses are right, but not which ones. We loved the tension and satisfaction of narrowing down possibilities, and wanted to bring that logic-meets-chaos feeling into a social, visual, and ridiculous 3D space. Built as a side project within Mobile Pie, the aim was to fast-track some of the wider team’s understanding of Horizon Worlds while creating something instantly fun and shareable.
What it does
Players mix and match outrageous costume pieces to guess the secret dress code for an exclusive party. When you try to enter, the AI bouncer tells you how many items are correct, but not which ones. The twist: it’s a social race. You can watch other players test outfits and use their successes (and fashion disasters) to your advantage. The first person to crack the code earns entry and bragging rights at the party!
How we built it
Created in Horizon Worlds using Meta’s GenAI tools, Party Crashers uses AI-generated clothing items and an AI created bouncer NPC. The costume system leverages Horizon’s avatar item features for quick dressing and feedback loops.
Challenges we ran into
Our main challenges were reliably displaying avatar items in-world and keeping the multiplayer systems responsive and synchronized. We initially included hats, but ran into equip conflicts with different hairstyles - so they’re temporarily benched!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of how immediately understandable the game is - players grasp the goal within seconds and fun follows fast.
What we learned
We deepened our knowledge of Horizon’s avatar integration, AI pipelines, and multiplayer design. For several team members, it was their first hands-on Horizon Worlds project.
What's next for Party Crashers
Next up: more party themes, new locations, and even chaotic obstacle-filled venues where players race to change outfits mid-party!
