Problem: Free Geek Toronto (FGT) lacks a long term plan for securing corporate partnerships, maintaining a steady workforce, and earning useful technology donations. Over-reliance on grants and sales is risky in the future, hence, we plan on mitigating the risk through a structured approach alongside a supplementary technical product. We believe that solving these partnership absences will resolve many of the other bottlenecks that the business faces.
Proposed Solution:
- CSR Equivalency Calculator to provide partners with an idea of the positive impact they are making on the community, alongside an ready to use action line for boosting PR.
- Targeting TDSB SHSM educational placements.
- Writing an ethical policy document to sign deals with corporations and sponsors so the company's identity remains untouched.
Brief Timeline (Educational Partnerships):
Months 1-2: Identify possible TDSB schools, contact SHSM teacher sponsors, and secure school level pilot improval.
Months 3-5: Manage student placement, and write an impact report (keep track of hours spent on training as this can be used as credible outcome in the future).
Month 6 and onwards: Use the results to solidify FGT's reputation in TDSB and grow the partnership. Note: The presentation dives deeper into the timeline covering the details with more depth!
