Inspiration

Nowadays during online learning, group discussions often become chatting rooms

What it does

It can assess the depth and length of messages, evaluating individual group members' contributions to group discussions.

How we built it

Python and Discord.py

Challenges we ran into

I tried to make the assessment report look nicer but it turns out discord has very limited font and formatting capabilities.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is the first time I participated a Hackathon and the first time I've coded a discord bot.

What we learned

Planning is very important; I didn't get to start the final submitted project until 3 P.M. on Sunday.

What's next for Participation Assessment Discord Bot

I can make the bot give a warning of low-quality discussions which will be displayed at certain intervals during a discussion session, expand the bot to detect profanity in messaging, and report excessive messaging time to help improve productivity of online learning.
