Inspiration
Thinking of our personal experiences attending the nearcon23 from all over the world, we realized how tricky it can be to handle the commute in a new city, manage the in-person hotel book-in and conference registration, and be on time for the meetings we wanted to attend.
We thought we could simplify the process by minting RODiTs (Rich Online Digital Tokens) serving as proof of booking and access key to the hotel, plus giving access to special offers in local commodities nearby.
What it does
With Partage BnB, NEAR users can book their access to a bedroom. The purchase will mint a RODiT that will be sent to their wallet and will be used to open the accommodation through an NFC signal validating the proof of ownership. The digital authentication can also be used to redeem some special access to a bunch of commodities in partnering shops or anything they could need during their stay.
How we built it
We have been assembling elements from the Partage Protocol, a web3 platform to share utilities, and the RODiT into a new app offering new functionalities for NEAR users.
Challenges we ran into
We had to lead small user research and get in touch with targetted partners (hotels and smart lock brands) to validate our hypothesis. Once we figured out how to engineer the IRL access with digital technology, and we agreed on the tech we wanted to use, we had to execute in an MVP. We bootstraped something to prove the concept.
What's next for Partage BnB
We have pending partnerships with smart lock brands in order to integrate our app within their devices. Also have been in touch with an international hotel group that could be interested in testing our product.
