🚗 ParkSwap - Airbnb for Parking Spots

🧠 Inspiration

Living in Bucharest, I'm constantly frustrated wasting 20-30 minutes looking for parking - while private residential spots sit unused. I realized no local app solves this, so I built one.

🔍 What It Is

ParkSwap is like Airbnb, but for parking spots:

  • Drivers can instantly find and rent private spots in busy areas—no more wasted time.
  • Hosts (spot owners) can quickly list empty spaces and earn passive income.

🛠️ How I Built It

  • Rapid prototyping with Bolt.new, using my no-code + Figma and ChatGPT skills.
  • Backend on Supabase (Auth, real-time DB) + react-native-maps integration.
  • Spent ~18 million tokens in total iterating flows, focusing on the core flows first, and solving complex functionalities.

⚡ Milestones & Highlights

  • ✔️ Fully functional app built in just 15 days.
  • ✔️ Beautiful & responsive Landing Page built in 15 minutes using the same design language.
  • ✔️ Seamless switching between Host and Driver modes.
  • ✔️ Live listing flow: photo, map pin, pricing, availability, publish.
  • ✔️ Smooth booking flow: find, book, pay, and approval.
  • ✔️ Everything is dynamic and syncs between users thanks to Supabase.

🛠️ Challenges & Growth

  • Role-switching logic was the most complex (almost rage-quit the project)
  • Google OAuth implementation was tricky to sync with other app functionalities and wasted a lot of time and tokens, so I reverted to basic email/password to keep momentum.
  • Developed rapid-iteration strategies using ChatGPT + Bolt.new to debug UX failures.
  • Designed first concepts in Figma and tried to reproduce them in Bolt, only to find out that it's more complicated to match the design, so I "designed" in Bolt directly.

✨ What I’m Proud Of

  • Shipped a functional MVP in 15 days as a UX/UI designer with no coding knowledge.
  • Proud of seeing how my personal frustration motivated me to create a real mobile app to solve it.
  • Focused on simplicity and core flows over feature bloat.
  • Did early testing of UX with friends & family to gather feedback & iterate.

  • Stripe payment integration, rating system.
  • Google oAuth integration for simplicity.
  • Enhance the UI design and polish current flows.
  • Launch globally on App Store / Play Store + ProductHunt & Socials.
  • Gather external feedback & iterate fast.
