What Problem Is Being Solved?

Drivers are parking in places which are not appropriate, which will cause them to get tickets and get towed, including possibly negatively affect the people around the area. This is because drivers, especially ones who aren't familiar with the area, don't know where to park or not park

What Is ParkSafe?

ParkSafe is an application which will aid drivers in determining if the parking place they want to park in is appropriate or not. Users can sign up on the app, which can be downloaded onto their phone, and turn on location services. After that, they can click on "Check" and snap a photo of where they want to park for the most accuracy. The app will use a database of places where parking is encouraged or not encouraged to determine whether the parking place is fine or not. It can even tell you if there are any fees for parking, and what times parking there is permitted. In addition, there is an option where people who own property, like business owners, can send in their information to add to our database of places to not park. The submission will be checked for appropriateness first, and then it can be added.

Impact On Society

This will positively impact both drivers and people in the area. For drivers, it will help them determine good parking spots very easily, and help them avoid and trouble with the police or people around. The people around there, like small restaurant owners will be positively affected because of less cars parking in front of their business.
