Inspiration
Our great teammate Houssam who though up this great idea. We also wanted to make parking more convenient.
What it does
You can take a picture or upload one from your gallery, an AI will analyze it and the app wil return whether or not you can park.
How we built it
We used react native for the mobile app, node.js for the back-end, cloudinary to store the images, and chatGPT-4-vision to process image to text.
Challenges we ran into
We weren't the most comfortable in react native so there certainly were some challenges with putting together the front-end.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are aroud to have completed an app that functions in a language that we were not 100% familiar with within 24hrs.
What we learned
We learned a lot about react navigation and creating mobile apps. We also learned that it is definitely easier to make a project in a language you're familiar with.
What's next for ParkME
Make our own model and make it able to detect signs from a distance and differentiate parking signs from the rest. Potentially add real-time updates on whether you can park or not from within your car system.
