Inspiration

Almost everyone, whether driver or passenger, has had a bad experience with parking. We wanted to create an app to make it easier to find parking, especially in highly populated cities.

What it does

A user can input their final destination and our web app will give real time data displaying up to 5 nearby parking lots/streets with the highest probability of finding a parking space.

How we built it

JavaScript, Node.js, React.js, Express.js, Next.js, Inrix API, Mapbox API

Challenges we ran into

We struggled the most with merging the backend with the front end to make it functional. This was mainly because the two sides needed to connect constantly in order to check functionality and it was hard to connect the two.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to deliver a fully functional web app that has the potential of helping users everyday. We also are proud of how well we worked together, conquered problems, and never gave up.

What we learned

We all learned a lot more about JavaScript, the frameworks we used, and the APIs.

What's next for ParkMe

After having our basic ideas fully functional, we want to put a little more effort into our UI/UX to make the app run smoother. Also, we would like to see our project scale into a mobile app. This will be more convenient for our users on the go and will appeal to a greater population. All of this is with the goal in mind that ParkMe can become an everyday essential that benefits everyone.
