Inspiration Problems in parking. Available products only show about the parking places but they dont tell what is their current status like how many cars are placed and how many spaces are left. "Parking Full" is a common problem in cities like new delhi.
What it does
It basically uses an hardware to sense if a car is there infront of it at a specific distance for a specific time. If the car is detected first the registered user is notified with the help of GCM and we can check for the parking in the maps which tells about the live parking whether it is available at the moment or not.
How we built it
We used following components
- Arduino+WifiModule(ep8266)+Ultrasonic sensor for checking whether a car is placed for specific time and sending it to a server
- Thingspeak and its apis for fetch and post the data .
- GCM for notifying the registered user that someone has parked against ur hardware
- Android application ## Challenges we ran into Posting and fetching from the server using google maps and marking it live.
