2 types of parking spaces- Commercial and Residential. The attempt is to reduce the need for a dedicated workforce for parking spaces and make the entire process more automated. For the commercial parking space, each parking lot will have a unique ID. The entire area will be under CCTV surveillance. There will be a real-time display of the number of parking slots available. This data will also be available on the app/website. When a customer enters the parking space, they will need to check-in, this can be done via the app/website. The customer’s profile is temporarily linked to the number plate of the vehicle they’re driving. They are then allocated a parking slot(which is temporarily assigned to the customer’s profile) based on availability and type of vehicle. Also, the parking slot is also temporarily assigned to the number plate of the vehicle and its status goes from “vacant” to “booked”. CCTV surveillance will be used to see if the vehicle is parked in the correct slot, and also to check if it is parked incorrectly. There will be a sensor at each slot to check if a vehicle is currently parked at the slot, if it is then its status goes from “booked” to “occupied”. Also, when the car is parked, the status on the profile of the customer also becomes “parked”. Whoever parks at the wrong slot will be penalized. However, if the slot assigned to the customer is “occupied” before the customer’s status is “parked”, then he/she will not be penalized. When the customer leaves, his/her profile’s status is no longer “parked” and then they proceed to check-out. The fee payable depends on how long the customer has “parked” and any extra penalty(if it is to be paid). Also, the status of the parking slot changes back to “vacant”. For a residential parking lot, slots are reserved for the regular occupants, and some visitor parking spaces are reserved. For visitor’s, the system is similar to that of a commercial parking space. When a vehicle approaches, the driver will have to indicate whether or not they need a parking space. If not, they are allowed a limited amount of time in the building. Since every parking slot has its own ID and has a real-time status, this data can be used to book a parking slot beforehand. It also gives the customer an easier time finding parking spots.

We will attempt to reduce the need for a large workforce for maintaining parking spaces by making the entire experience of parking more automated. Generally, there are 2 types of parking spaces based on their purpose- Commercial and Residential. For commercial parking spaces, there will be a real-time display of the number of parking slots available, both on the website and outside the parking space. When a customer enters the parking space, they will need to check-in (after this, the number of vacant slots reduced by one ), this can be done via the app/website. After this, the customer proceeds to park his/her vehicle and there will be sensors at every parking slot to check if it is parked incorrectly ( if so, the customer will be fined ). When the customer is ready to leave, he/she must check-out and how much they pay depends on the duration of their stay. Also, parking slots can be booked via the website
