Inspiration

It is a fantastic learning opportunity to me as well as my team. As a team we get a taste of smart management and team dynamics. It forces us to get out of our comfort zone and grow. We make a step towards entrepreneurship. At the end of the day we catch the attention of the management if we win it.

What it does

So today we as a team are gonna develop a app that detects available parking spots in a given area. The idea is to help drivers focus on the road and reduce their fuel consumption by quickly finding available parking. The app can also include features like speed limit warnings and speed camera warnings on highways. The main idea was the creation of smart parking using the Internet of Things and ultrasonic sensors, where available parking places could be displayed in a web application.

How we built it

First we'll place sensors in the traffic area which is monitored 24/7 and the sensors are constantly sending out data to the main server.

Then we will program those sensors to send out data about the area constantly to the server and to the user's phone. This will give out the user an easy understanding of places where there is a high traffic with zero parking spots and places with a lot of free parking spots.

We will even use sensors to monitor the speed on highway roads. Monitoring user's car and thus giving out notifications and letting him know that he's crossing the speed limit and fine him and also reduce his speed.

We can also program this app to give out notifications and warnings whenever they end up breaking any sort of rules while driving.

The sensors can be used to track all of their movements and immediately send a warning right after they break the law and thus enforcing a safer environment.
