Inspiration

As college students, we are often looking for safe, cheap parking when traveling. However, when looking up parking lots, not only do they often have pricing information, but are often not available in more suburban areas. We decided to create a way to solve that by allowing people to rent out their private parking lots.

What it does

You can create an account and then either view parking spots for rent, list your own parking spot, or both!

How we built it

The app sits on a Create React app. There are various backend integrations: a custom server used to query from Kintone, Strapi CMS, and PropelAuth.

Challenges we ran into

Kintone was very difficult to work with since the team was more used to traditional SQL style databases.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Landing page looks beautiful! Kintone works!!

What we learned

This was the first time 3/4 of us submitted a project for a hackathon, so we learned a lot from the experience.

What's next for parked

The Strapi CMS was a much better solution because of the ease of creating relational data and the UI. Therefore, parked will move to using exclusively Strapi for everything except the login.
