As a parent navigating overwhelming, conflicting online parenting advice, I wanted a reliable hub tailored to my child’s exact age—something that cut through the noise with consistent, research-backed support for daily struggles like tantrums or sleep resistance.
What it does
ParentingClass AI delivers age-specific developmental insights (0-12yrs), AI-powered problem-solving for behavioral challenges, positive discipline tools, co-parent alignment features, and straightforward subscription management.
How we built it
We started with mapping core parent pain points (tantrums, co-parent inconsistency), then built age-based content logic, integrated AI for real-time responses, designed a mobile-first UI, and added Stripe for subscription processing.
Challenges we ran into
Aligning AI responses with research-backed parenting practices while keeping tone warm/non-judgmental was tough. We also struggled to balance free tier access with clear upgrade prompts without frustrating users.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a seamless age-based content system that updates as kids grow, and building a co-parent hub that identifies conflicting approaches to foster consistency—all with a user-friendly, inclusive design.
What we learned
We deepened our understanding of developmental psychology for 0-12yr olds and how to translate that into actionable digital tools. We also learned to balance monetization (monthly subscriptions) with accessible free previews.
What's next for this project
We plan to expand discipline techniques, add more behavioral challenge categories, and refine the co-parent alignment tracking to include progress metrics—all while keeping the focus on accessible, compassionate parenting support.
