Australia gov's social media ban is awful and has to be stopped, I had the better idea of simply mandating enhanced parental control features after discussions on reddit
What it does
It developed into a hub where parents can view, manage, create, block or delete their children's accounts. Parents would be able to simply download an app on their kids device, login to their MyGov through the app. The device is now linked to their Parental account, registered within the Child Device Registry and all accounts are blocked by default. Service providers must ping a decentralised database of child-device ID's, if the device is a child device then it has to retrieve the Parent Preferences and follow them

Challenges we ran into
Typical AI stuff and a lack of use of knowledge, or preparedness, for developing an actual policy proposal, as in the more efficient processes for starting the project instead of just winging it. Developing a proposal with a clear workflow in mind would make the process much smoother and possibly easier for the AI to structure around it

Developed the core policy, a better plan, overnight.
What we learned
To focus more towards both using AI to research how to research from the beginning, to help act as the project manager and also to be more aware of or advise of its own limitations
What's next for Parent-Child Digital Safety Link
Hopefully the policy will join the debate around Australia's under 16 social media ban and ultimately replace it
